PayOffshore.Com was founded in November 1999 by ex-employees of Cinergy Communications, a joint venture ISP between Jersey Telecoms and Guernsey Telecoms. The company was set up to provide e-commerce and payment services in an offshore location. I was invited to join as Senior Applications Developer, heading up a team of 2 others which later grew to 3.

I was responsible for developing the company’s Administration and Billing System, using Allaire’s ColdFusion 4.5 and Microsoft SQL Server 6.5. The system allows for online billing of products and services, including variable charges based on credit card transaction volumes processed through the payment gateway. Clients could then pay their monthly invoice online using a credit card.

I also developed numerous customer applications and lead the development efforts of the Multi-Currency API – a set of functions that can be called by clients wishing to pass payments through PayOffshore.com. These functions are also used internally by the Merchant Panel, an online reporting and transaction processing system used by clients to process manual payments/refunds or view their account activity.
