I was born in Canada to parents of English descent. At the age of 2 my family moved back to the UK. At age 8 we moved to Switzerland, returning to the UK in 1986 where we lived in Jersey, one of the Channel Islands which is located near the French coast.

I completed my secondary schooling in Jersey, attending Victoria College where I completed my GCSEs and A-Levels. My exam results are here.

I worked in Jersey from 1993 to 2001 for a number of companies, starting off in IT, moving in to Telecoms, then the Internet. In April 2001 I moved to Canada, motivated by a job opportunity. My employment history is available here.
